To most people the profession of biomedical visualization is a mystery. It was a mystery to me also until one day in high school my parents suggested it to me as a career option. After I researched this profession I knew that it was the career path I wanted to take in life.
I finished high school and continued my education earning a BS in general biology.
Finally, after eight years of hard work I am a first year student in the biomedical visualization graduate program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
This blog is a tool for myself and others. Through this blog I will be able to see my progress as a budding medical illustrator within the UIC graduate program. Others with an interest in this unique field will be able to acquire a brief taste of what a biomedical visualization program focuses on.
I am excited to continue with this program and see where it takes me.
As a side note to those that want to learn more about the profession: the Association of Medical Illustrators website is a great place to start researching.
